Automatic levelers
Has anyone had Lippert install their automatic leveling system?

Stiles,
We watched a demonstration put on by Lippert at the fall rally. If I were interested in them, I would wait two years to let them work out bugs and let the system prove itself. One concern is that there is no manual bypass in case the system fails.

I have had them installed and I have used them on one trip so far. The system works well and they do make setting up a little easier. As we will be traveling more and making more over night stops, I look forward to the easier leveling process and the little bit of time saved. After our one trip so far, the Montana seems to be more stable than before. The hydraulic system has been used on the DRV product line for a few years and I believe the "bugs" have been worked out. The auto leveling system is new and may be of some concern, we will see as we go forward in time.

Ours will be installed on 10/25. I had talked to Jerrod Lippert and confirmed through him that there is a way to manually override the system. They will show me on Monday. Californis Ron has it and loves it.

One thing to be aware of is that if you have JT's on the rig and get the Level-up system you will lose the front ones but by all means keep the rear stabilizers and JT's. the rear pair of hydraulic rams are right behind the rear wheels and you will still have about 12 feet of overhang. You will have tail wiggle. Just put the old rear stabilizers down and snug them up and that will stop the wiggle...

Ron and Rose Helmick had the system put on their unit before the Fall Rally started. Maybe he will jump in here and let you know what he thinks of the system.

Already removed the JTs front and rear in preparation for the big day. I can always reinstall the rear JTs(or should I say my son) if I'm not satisfied but the rear stabilizers will stay. For $2500+ I better be satisfied. Louise will have the final say as to what happens as she can sense movement when I can't.

We have used ours twelve times now when setting up and love them. It took three or four times
to get used to setting up, but now it comes natural. We are in Phoenix now and this is the first time I put down the back jacks since putting on the levelers. We have a two year old Greatgrandson staying with us I wanted to be prepared for anything. When we had new brake put on it took me less than one minute to take all four tires off the ground.

We had our system installed today, SWEET!!!!!!!!!! It took us a few extra minutes to unhook when we got to the Fairgrounds because......... Once unhooked, we pushed the auto level and I sat at the picnic table and watched. Very cool, less than 2 minutes. For those that are interested in how to manually override the system, send me an e-mail, paypal me $20 and I will respond, just kidding. It's simple depending on how your motor was installed

This sounds like a slick system. Could someone post some pics of what it looks like? Thanks, Dennis

Dennis, from all that I can see, you are definitely going to want them. I have seen them on two rigs while waiting here at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds. I saw c214Dick's new install yesterday. Anyone who is physically challenged in any way can appreciate the system. I know that my back is always hurting by the time I am finished manually retracting the lower portion of the landing legs when decamping.
I know for a fact that some have abandoned the fifth wheel for a motor home strictly because of set up and break down issues related to back problems.

You can view the add. It is On Fall Rally 2010 under (Huge Savings At The Rally Update0.
I think the last posting was Aug. 27, 2010.

You can also view a Utube from the Lippert site. It shows the setup on a Cedar Creek rig.
