In reply to the scissor jacks I would also like to say there is a cheaper way to get the jacks. Although not the perfect jacks, you can go to local auto salvage yard and get scissor jacks out of junk cars for next to nothing.
Now before anyone gets in a yank here. If the jacks are used for just stabilization they are fine. Will they take the trailer off the ground? I kind of think they would, but wouldn't want to trust them for that. I use mine just as a stabilizers in front of axles.
Just an option is all.

Scissor jacks that you mention are jacks, not stabilizers, but don't hold a lot of weight which is why they are used on a much lighter vehicle. I guess scissor stabilizers is just too much of a mouthful and often a scissor jack can only be a stabilizer especially in the case of a heavy RV. I don't think an automotive scissor jack could lift an RV even if you tried. I certainly wouldn't trust one to hold my RV up, but it can help steady an RV. I would worry that an automotive scissor jack doesn't have the travel necessary under the RV, too.
Jacks are weight bearing but not always the weight you need. Stabilizers just hold things steady even if they look like a jack. NCFishers is doing the latter.
You bring up an excellent point Champ_49. Many of us trailer owners don't know the details, jacks versus stabilizers and when they will work and at what weight ratings. I don't plan to pursue this until after I start using JTs or Steadyfast, then it'll be a wait and see for us. In the meantime, I'm heading to NCFishers' rig for something solid. I'll stay in mine when I want to be in a California earthquake.
