In late April, I procured a set of the stabilizer jacks that Hookman mentioned from Winfield
RV Products at the following website:
http://www.winfieldrvproducts.com/SLIDE_STABILIZER.html
In assessing what made our 2955RL Monty bounce, I figured that with the landing jacks down
and outrigger jacks at the rear, we were still at the mercy of the air in the tires, and the
flex in the steel of the frame. So I installed these jacks under the frame just ahead of the
front wheels of the trailer. I do NOT use them to attempt to raise the trailer, but simply
to take some of the weight. They work beautifully and no more bounce if you use a block
under the base of the stabilizer jacks.
This week one of the jacks was giving me a problem in trying to lower it. I had to wiggle
it to get it out from under the trailer.
I sent an e-mail to Scott at Winfield and explained my problem. I asked if there was a spare spring available that I could purchase in order to repair the unit. Scott asked where
I was. At the time we were in Cheyenne, WY and moving every day and heading toward
Washington, state. Scott asked me for the address of campground where a new unit
would be sent to wait for our arrival. No cost to me at all. I asked about returning the
old unit and he said not required.
Just wish to send out some accolades to a company that still believes in keeping their
customers happy, a really rapid response and so nice to know that there are companies
and people out there who DO CARE for their customers.
Many thanks Scott.
