Loose dining table top....Stereo problem

Hello,
Have a "new" 2003 2955rl, took it on first trip past week-end. The table top is slighty loose on one end. Looked under the table and the loose end has 2 hinges and they are connected only at one end. Are these supposed to be connected to hold in place?
Stereo problem, cannot set time..instructions say push Clock until the Time flashs, then press Tuning or volume to correct hour or minute. Didn't work for me, would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
