Edouard

Up here, 100 miles north of Houston, we are experiencing some significant rainfall from Edouard. This is the first rains here in three months. I have two children on the east side of Houston in the suburbs (League City and Santa Fe). I have heard for them both and their area and homes did not flood. They stayed home and out of the fray. Good Idea.

Stiles,
I live in Texas City, just south of League City by about 12 miles. We had the Hanna parked in the drive way since returning from our trip on Sunday. We talked about heading out and running up to the north side of Lake Conroe. I spent a few very hot hours putting up the storm shutters and then we decided to just put Hanna in storage and weather it out.

This morning, we had light winds and some blowing rain. Not much to account for. I really didn't need the shutters, but hey, it's a precaution. We lost electricity twice for about 30 seconds or less (I hate those brown-outs) and I'm figuring a few wires rubbed together somewhere.

We were lucky this time. Anything reported higher than a tropical storm and we will evacuate.

If you get down this way, give a holler so we can do lunch.
