Pete, you will love your Old Town kayaks. I bought a 14' model 2 years ago and have it on the lake every chance I get!

We're spending our rebate check on diesel so that the trip to Texas and back won't hurt so much. If we absolutely didn't have to go this summer, we wouldn't. But, we moved Wayne's mom, who still lives in Texas, to a nursing home 2 weeks ago, and we need to pack her house and get it on the market for her ASAP. So, while I dreamed of getting something for the new house, the reality is I'll get diesel, diesel, and more diesel.

Carolyn

Got my rebate. It will pay for a little more than half the cost of fuel for my trip to New England.

Thank you George!

Rebate?
We won't get one, so no use trying to figure out what we would spend it on.

Jack-- If you're using $600 or $1200 "to fill your TV tanks" you either have some REALLY large tanks or you're carrying to much fuel and that's cutting down on your MPG!! LOL

Got ours on the 2nd and Lorraine spent it on the 2nd. She looked into our account, saw the money was there and with a couple clicks of the Mouse it was gone. The least she could have done was show me how nice it was to have a few bucks in the account. BUT NO! She had to pay bills with it instead but I am getting even. On the 15th I'm having a [s]rough[/s]roof mounted satellite dish installed. That'll teach her!!!!

Glenn,
I know you must be a penny pincer since you are going to install a rough mounted satellite dish. I hope you have some money left for the repairs. Rough mounted means ball pein hammer and nails - Dixie style.

Got ours on 4/28, direct deposit right into the savings account where it'll stay for a while!

Wayne, you cant use a ball pien with nails! If youre doing it dixie style you need to use the back edge of an axe to drive those nails.
While at the Nascar race in Richmond over the weekend, we witnessed a good ole boy who tried to make a tent out of a big tarp and four 4x4's cemented into 5 gallon pails, on a breezy day. Of course one would think the guy would have tried a dry run at home instead of creating home video opprotunities for dozens of other campers.

We're saving our Stimulus payment, at least until we get our 18% Fed gas tax rebate this summer!

Oh, fer sure we don't have to declare the Stimulus payment next year as it is tax free, fer sure!!!

Dennis, I think that was an $.18/gal Fed gas tax suspension (Gas Tax Holiday) that was being tossed around as a possibility. Memorial Day to Labor Day. Clinton and McCain support this, Obama is against it.

Is that what you were talking about, or something totally different?

Yea, I was being sarcastic and you caught it! Sorry about the political opinion but think our Energy Plan in this country is kaput! I'll save what I really think for another day. Dennis

I was kinda looking forward to that 18% Fed tax rebate check at the end of the summer...

Not a bad idea though... However, I get the feeling the govt will eventually tire of giving a little bit more of OUR money back (that we earned and had to give to them initially) to try to help out the economy. Too many pork barrel projects that must go forward. This is an election year, ya know...

Sorry, was that too political???

And a lot of duck tape to seal it properly. Can't forget the Duck tape or is it Duct Tape. Whatever, it seems to be working but it has become a real pain in the butt taking that dang tripod down whenever I get to a low bridge.
