Door hits awning

We have a 2005 Mountaineer 325fkbs, and when the awning is out, the door rubs it unless the awning is almost level! Anybody else have this problem and if you do how do you deal with it?

Hi Jeff,

A couple of TT's ago our TT came with a small plastic wheel at the top of the door. It was placed there, so when the door was opened the little wheel would roll on the Awning so the door wouldn't rub it.

If you don't find a suitable answer these are probably still available for the RV doors.

We need to raise our awning till it's almost flat to keep ours from rubbing.

Happy Camping

Hey guys we owned a Mountaineer 335RLBS TT a while back and had the same problem. Camping World has tiny wheels that can be attached to your door that will help eliminate the problem. Of course, raising the awning as high as possible will stop this too, but in wind or heavy rain this may not be a good idea. The wheel is much cheaper than awning replacement. Best of luck.

Like the others, we had a non-Montana FW that had the wheel on the door. The corner on that door was sharp enough it would have ripped the awning fabric had the wheel not been there. I've seen these wheels on the parts shelves in RV dealers.

Ours also hits but if you will set one side higher than the other that should help, it does ours. This helps run off during a down pour also. Good to know about the little wheels - thought we were getting a Camping World here in Albuq but haven't seen anything else on it for quite a while........I was excited but hopes have been dashed for the present. Good luck with your awning.

Safe travels.

We found that if we extend the awning all the way at the door end
and then slightly less at the other to give the drainage pitch
then this works fine and there is no binding.
