Can't complain about workmanship...

I know some of you MOCers out there are very handy with their Montanas. This takes "handy" to a whole new level...

He has my admiration. With the money he saved, he can travel a very long way.

I've seen that before and that took a lot of work and dedication!

Great project! Makes think well maybe I could... ??? (Don't think so!)

I wondered about the weight too, there is a lot of framing in there. The workmanship looked first rate, and I'll bet he knows where every wire is routed too! My congratulations to Chad. I hope he and his family get as much enjoyment from using it, as effort they put into building it.

My first thought was that it looks a lot like a Sprinter (Keystone) frame. With that in mind, I believe it should be fairly close to the same weight as one.

That was my 2nd thought, John. Funny you should say that. I was thinking exactly the same thing. I'll bet he does know where ALL his wiring is.

He may even POSSIBLY have made up a wiring diagram for later reference. HEAVENS FORBID!

Actually the "kit" probably came with one...

OK... Now I'm REALLY impressed. He built this from scratch - without any plans or a "kit".

I do like his idea - and I think Will mentioned this just the other day on another thread - an all electric fridge/freezer w/ inverter/batteries to power it when off shore power. According to Chad on his website, you can get a much bigger and cheaper fridge (although there is the extra cost of the inverter - 2000w? and batteries).

Thanks for posting that link Jack. I will help out and post this specific link on that page. This is incredible.

Looks like he had to switch plans slightly on the fridge, though... he mentioned in these plans an 11 cu ft fridge, but if you look at his actual spreadsheet cost list (another link), he apparently settled for a 10 cu ft from Menards. Still better than my measly 8 cu ft. AND I still like that inverter method for backup power vs propane...
