I called the service manager at my dealer with the same issue. He said that the first thing to do was lubricate the slide mechanism with good silicon grease recommended for slides. I used CRC spray and the sticking stopped. I sprayed the slide rails and the gears.
If the lube doesn't do it, then you may have an alignment problem. As for me, I let the dealer handle that one. By-the-way, the service manager said that shutdown or sticking was just the automatic reset breaker doing its job to protect you slide when overloaded.
