Maxxis tires
This has probably been asked before, but are Maxxis trailer tires better than Marathons? Are they US made or also Chinese?

No, Maxxis tires are not the same as Marathons. They are excellent ST tires. They are not made in China, but elsewhere in Asia. I've had them on or Monty for 2.5 yrs and I'm very pleased with them. In 2.5 yrs I've noticed little tread wear. The negative is that very few tire shops carry them in stock, and they usually have to be ordered. A number of tire shops told me that most people that own trailers don't want to spend a lot on quality tires. Maxxis tires are more expensive than the cheap crap tires.

Yes, Maxxis are good tires. Just make sure the ones you get can handle the weight you carry.

Not US or China. Think Tawan maybe. I had Maxxis on my SOB and several friends had them. I would have put them on my Mountaineer but DW insisted on G614 Goodyear.

Excellent tire, been around a long time. See them often on heavy construction trailers.

That's good news. This spring I bought Maxxis tires for my SOB. When I traded the SOB off for my 3400RL last month, I had the dealer take off the Marathons and put on the Maxxis. I hope my luck will be as good as yours.

I don't know why ST tires are made for trailers that will be used on 75 MPH roads.

If I drove at 75 MPH even with G614's I would be dead!!!!!!!!! My DW would kill me.

Yes, 75 mph is out of my comfort zone also. Too much weight and too many variables. Maybe at 65 it's not much different, but is sure feels it to me.

Maxxis tires are good. I had 43-45K on our last set before I replaced them with yet again Maxxis. I probably could have gotten more out of them, but felt like I should replace them because of age.
Our MOC member "LonnieB" owns a tire business and these are the only ST tires he will recommend and for good reason......they do what they say. We have been completely satisfied. One of the things I noticed when I replaced the original Marathons with the first set a Maxxis was that the tires ran much cooler than the Marathons. We have bought ours online from Discount Tire for the best price I could find. Free shipping too!
