Good Sam, AAA, or Coach-net?

I am so sorry about re-directing the question on Travel Assist. So what I would like to see are the various experiences, pro and con, for these Roadside Assistance plans. My renewal for AAA is approaching but I'm strongly considering Good Sam and don't know anything about Coach-net.

I only have experience with Good Sam. I've posted my tale of woe here before, so won't go into detail again. Bottom line, after years of paying for, and (thankfully) not requiring, GS Roadside Assistance, they let me down the one time I did need them. It was AAA that bailed me out. My girlfriend had the service. That was embarrassing. First time I took her camping. No more GS anything for me. Others will chime in about Coach-net. I believe a lot of the full-timers use it.

I canceled AAA after 35 years. I bought RV and Premium Coverage for all 6 of my vehicles. Had lug nut studs fail on my front rim of truck because America's Tire dealer failed to torque properly! AAA towing refused to tow me because they don't Tow "F450 pickups". Told me it was not covered because it's consider a commercial vehicle. I told them it's insured by you folks and I paid for the coverage!! They refused, and I called Ford's towing service under my warranty, and they had truck and RV towed to dealership. They send a semi 4 axle tractor and towed them as a single unit. I then switched to Good Sam's. Oh by the way, Ford used the same towing company that refused under AAA.

I CoachNet and have been very pleased with their service. I have used them on 2 events, always prompt, dispatched very competent service vehicle, always asked if I was safe. I had used my insurance towing coverage before--never any good- on occasion I had to loan one tow truck driver my jack, tools, etc because he did not have any! We travel about 3-4 months in a year with about 5000 miles towing--just completed our 10th year.

We had AAA for years and had RV Plus. When we bought the Monty I began to hear that if the truck broke down AAA wouldn't tow our trailer because it was too long. The sales people assured me they would so I called the 800 help number. They told me the Monty was indeed too long and that they would tow the truck and leave us by the side of the road. Come to find out that, like Blue Cross, the state you have your coverage with makes a difference on what they will do. We went with Coach-Net and have had good experiences. 30 miles north of Yuma on a dirt road that GPS couldn't find I got a tire fixed. Had to help the driver find us using our phone, but Coach-Net stayed involved until we told them we were fine. I've also called their tech folks for advise on repairs and this year, near Ringgold, GA, we had an inverter failure and they found a mobile repair person qualified to work on it and made an appointment for me.

After reading lots of posts on the subject I went with Coach-Net. Have not had to use them yet, so can't comment on service.

I did have my F350 towed to the Ford dealer under warranty a couple years ago due to a failed exhaust temp sensor. That went well. And at that time, they were using Coach-Net as their service provider. Don't know if they still are or not.

We have had them all and used them all over the years with no problem. I change to whoever has a special on for that year.

Either Coach Net or Good Sam. As noted above, AAA does not do heavy duty towing.

Good Sam will cover wife for free but AAA will not. Be sure to read the fine print and ask questions, and get every thing in writing.

We have had Good Sam for 20 plus years and have always been satisfied with all services received- To me, it makes sense to use a service that is familiar with our unique needs- JMHO- Don

I was under the impression that our AAA would tow TV or unit up to two hundred miles. I will have to check and see. Discussions on this topic in other forums seemed to indicated AAA would tow both or ither one as necessary. I did read that AAA was better out west than back east. Looks like another call to AAA is in order.

Our coach net starts today so I can't comment on service but hopefully we won't have to use them.

I don't know anything about the other two, but I've had Good Sam for years, have used it twice, and had a great experience both times. Once wasn't even a RV. I can recommend them.

I went with Coach-net 5 years ago as they cover my car, truck and 3 trailers plus they include Global Emergency Services, Emergency Travel Assistance, and Worldwide Travel Assistance which I had to pay extra for with GS. Hope I never need either of them but it is peace of mind to know it is there. Only used them once and that was the second month I had them and they did more I expected.

AAA does not cover heavy duty Towing?? I guess I am Special or something ,My truck broke down on the Oregon Coast last year and AAA sent 2 big rigs one to haul the 40ft Monty and one to haul my 3500 Dually WITH a Scooter that I had on the front of my truck 80 miles to the next Resort..AAA saved our Butt, as a matter of fact about 60 miles after where the pic of my truck you see here was taken is when it broke

We have both AAA and GS. In Feb, we had a major breakdown between Savannah and Macon GA and called GS. We were off the interstate on a side road and they had a hard time finding us but when they did, one wrecker towed the truck and the other the fiver into a dealer about 25 miles away where we wound up buying a new truck. GS is best investment we ever made. New truck, not so much.

We have CoachNet and are happy with the service. Used them once a few months ago to get the truck keys I left in the ignition when I got out and locked the truck. They were very helpful and called several times to check on us while assistance was en route since we were in a rather interesting location at a late hour. They have an App that you can downloaded to your IPhone.

Yeah, but is a 3500 equal in size to an F450? I think not. 3500 and F 350 would be comparable.
