Just wondering, is the door still hard to operate when hitched to the tow vehicle? I have had problems when slightly out of level.

Really makes no difference. The door never binds. The issue is with the lock mechanism.
Thanks, John

The final answer is here. Per Manager Ed Haverson at Fastec. They supply the door lock for Montana. Somewhere between 2002 and 2003 Fastec redesigned the door lock. The plunger angles both on the front and back were changed. Also the spring tension was reduced. The strike plate angle where it contacts the plunger bolt was modified. A new one is on it's way. Thanks to the MOC family for your helpful input.

The Lock mechanism arrived a couple of weeks ago. I replaced the original and now the door closes as we would expect. Only need one hand instead of two to SLAM the door. We have a tiny 1/4" crack in our new beveled glass window from Algodonas, Mexico. Hopefully the door and window will last a good long while.

John,

With your persistence, I knew you would find a way to get the lock fixed.

Thanks for the information.

John,
Sounds like we'll have to go back to Algodones to get you a crack-free window

Charlie,
I don't know if they will exchange it. The guy told me beveled glass is very expensive and besides it's "Almost" free! I guess it's worth a try. This time I'm gonna bring my passport so I don't get in trouble again! Let's go.
