overnight at Shell off 39

I noticed a very nice new Montana out at the shell gas station 11/2/2006...off interstate 39. It is nice you can pull of and have a site with full hookups. Even some eating places.

We have some friends who stayed there this last spring on their way to WI from Florida. They said the price was right and they really enjoyed their stay there.

I think it is a very nice set up. I think they have about 6 sites all w/ full hook ups. I hope to see more of these in the future.

Carol,

It is on I 39 north of Bloomington/Normal around exit 39 I think. Don't remember for sure but I think that was the exit. I think my friends said that it was around $25. per night.

Carol, yes in Illinois as gkbutler previous posted. I am not sure of the price but believe it is somewhere between $25.00 -$30.00 a night. There is usually a police officer camping there too! He works parttime in town and just brings his camper with!.

39 did not ring any bells for me (guess I have not spent ENOUGH time in Illinois yet! )

Campbud, we saw an Indian Casino in a Shell station just outside of Arkansas, Oklahoma.
When Sue and I see a Shell station along the highways, we say, there's our friend the Shell station...
They are everywhere, and sometimes we can even get into the pumps to get fuel. One south of Albuquerque was absolutely a nightmare, Sue had to help me Jockey in and out of the pumps to keep the morons from blocking us in.
Some people have no clue, and no patience.
