Is it ok to have the doors closed?

Sorry for so many questions.

I'm doing wash again and the kitten really wants to get in the cabinet with the washer. Last time I sat on the floor, read a book and pulled her back each time she headed into the cabinet. I'd prefer not to do that each time I do wash. So is it ok to run the washer with the cabinet closed?

We leave ours open just so we can see the lights. But I see no reason you could not close it. It does need some air flow during the drying cycle as it blows air out the vent. But I don't think any cabinet is air tight enough to worry. But you could close the door enough to leave a small opening around the door to let air in and keep cat out.

Washer and dryer have separate doors in this unit (washer on bottom and dryer on top). We run both with the doors shut and have likewise done the same with the other two rigs, but they had single doors for both the washer and dryer. The clearance requirements are minimal and I see no reason that both cannot operate with the doors closed. There is air flow around the doors so I do not think the air flow would be an issue, but that is my opinion only.

We run ours with the door shut occasionally with no problems so far. By the way, if your rig has the TV coming up from behind a fireplace or something else and forget to lower it when you aren't supervising, cats will go down in there. You can guess how I know.

as to alowing air to get to the dryer.
cut a couple holes ( pending style) and install decorative grills.
basicly unlimited air in.

Our washer/dryer closet door is louvered top and bottom. We opt not to have w/d but if we did it should not be a problem to close the door.
