splendide washer dryer combo

I bought a 2010 Mountaineer, 295 rkd. In the bedroom closet corner cab. its washer ready with an outlet. Under the cab. theres a drawer. When installing the washer, does it go in the cabinet above the drawer or is it time to remove the lower drawer and do some cutting to install the unit on the floor? What is the recommended location to install the washer?

Not sure about the Mountaineer, probably pretty close to our 2011 Montana 3100RL as far as washer installation. Our splendide was installed on shelf above the drawer. we did have the splendide tray placed under washer for overflows. Which I hope we never see work!

Ours is on the shelf over the drawer also.

I see the bottom of the cab. is pretty stout. as for the back of the cabinet, how much was removed. The washer is larger then the depth of the cabinet. The cabinet is not square. Its shy about 2" Also when they ran the dryer vent is the hose behind the washer or run over the top of the unit. any pics would be a great help Thanks

I cut the entire back of the cabinet out of mine. Also cut an access panel in the side of the cabinet, in the closet, to reach the vent hose.

My hose is behind the washer, I read somewhere to keep the dryer vent hose as horizontal as possible.

I also used the dryer vent elbows.

Thanks for the feedback. Keystone thought i should remove the lower drawer and do a lot of cutting. I was real curious as to how well the cabinet is made to hold the weight of the washer. Do you have louvered doors or a solid panel?

We have 2 solid doors.

We also have solid doors, not sure we have to but we leave 1 door open when using the washer/dryer.

That's very strange. Keystone knows the size of a Splendede and the space should match. Ours fits with room left over.

The unit will fit in width wise. The cabinet is angled and didn't have the depth , almost 3" less depth on the left. Its all good. ordered the vent kit and pan from Splendide at half the cost from an rv store

The 295 red has a smaller cabinet for the washer to go in . I removed the rear of the cabinet. Removed the lower drawer. It was recommended by an rv dealer to put the washer on the floor. After taking measurements, there is 2 1" aluminum square tubing in the way behind the drawer. With the rear of the cab. removed the washer will fit in the upper area of the cabinet. The uppermost shelf should be carefully removed and staples pulled. The shelf will sit behind the outer 1x2. To winterize the unit you should remove the water hoses to drain them. also its recommended to pull the from lower valance and remove the front cover from the pump to drain it. Also lifting the upper shelf will eliminate the cutting of a hole in the closet wall to get at the hose behind the unit. I'll be taking pics of the job later in the day. I have had nothing but bad experiences dealing with R.V. repair shops . I will be making a video and putting it on you tube. There's not much an owner can't do on your own camper.

Sorry didn't see earlier. Sounds like you have it under control. The fixable cheap dryer duct works better, the other stuff breaks from the up and down of traveling. I know because I had to replace it.

To winter-wise, hook up compress air (40 psi) to City Water connections. Put washer on Rinse with water temp at 6 o'clock (half way between cold and hot). When water turns to air, press cancel (Hold the Start button down). Put on drain and start, once water is out, cancel again. Pour about two cups of RV antifreeze into the washer, and select drain and start again. Once it has drained, you can cancel for the last time and you are done. Leave door open a bit.

I would NOT disconnect the hoses, or pull the screen, just leave in the above state, which winter-wised the wash and the washer trap.
