Expensive weekend camping

Crossing a pass from Yakima to Ellensburg in WA state this weekend. Gust of high wind hit and took bottom side section on trailer. Rolled it up, tore and wowed cargo door. Got stopped and found it just tore holes where bolted on. Fender washers got us back on the road. Have some work to do up front to get doors and corner right. It destroyed the fender cowel.

Question is, where would I find a replacement fender flare/cowel for my 2008 Mountaineer. Thanks for the help in advance

The bottom cover material was called 'J wrap' when we had to replace a piece on our old TT. Unless someone else has a source, I think you'll have to go to a dealer and have it ordered from Keystone.

I had the same problem and solved it the same way on the side of I80 last fall. I'm doing all the screws under my camper that way now. The screws that is in the camper have small heads on them and when the aluminum works as the wind blows over it it starts to break up and pretty soon one screw head breaks through then another until the section of aluminum has come loose.

I had a piece fabricated for me by a local machine shop at a very reasonable cost.

Thanks for posting. I already planned to replace the screws with stainless this summer. Now stainless fender washers will be added to the project.

Sfretts:

We replaced both our j-panels with ones from:

http://www.icondirect.com/

Easy to deal with and the shipping was very inexpensive.

We had checked with our local Montana dealer (Folsom Lake RV) to order from them and while the cost of the j-panels was doable, the shipping cost was more than the cost of the panels.

Take a look at Icon Direct. They carry a lot of RV replacement parts.

Good luck to you.

Margee.
