Black "Plastic" Material Under Bedroom Slide

I noticed a crack in that black plastic material outside and under the bedroom slide last year. Put a piece of that black fabric tape from the dealer on it and I noticed today the crack is about 2" longer. Any ideas or suggestions on how to STOP the material from cracking more.

do you lube this area like you do the slide seals? I've seen plastic welders before. FFT.

A crack will keep traveling until something releives its stress. If you drill a small hole at the very ends of the crack it will usually relieve the stress. Then cover everything with tape again to keep moisture and bugs out.

I have several cracks on mine that I noticed when buying it used at the dealer. I had them put in the contract for them to replace it as part of the sale. When I found out the entire slide has to be removed the do so I decided to just get them to pay me for the job and deal with it. I did not want them to create more issues by doing so. My cracks are stapled every inch and covered with silicon caulk. I keep the bottom gasket and bottom of the slide well lubed up with 303

I had a couple of cracks and a piece actually missing on mine. I used Flex Seal first and then covered the Flex Seal with a large piece of heavy duty plastic coated duct tape. That was three years ago and it is still holding. Theunz's suggestion of drilling holes on each end of the crack to relieve stress is an excellent one. Should take less than fifteen minutes to complete the repair.
