refer temp
Just getting Monty ready for summer travel and turned on the refrigerator a couple of hours ago.
Went out to check the temp and freezer is 20 degrees, fridge is 70 degrees. I feel a little cool on the fridge fins inside.
Can the fridge not work and the freezer does?
What is the time for temps to be reliable? Overnight?

It may take as long as 8-12 hours for a RV to cool down. Let it sit over night and then let us know what the results are.

Illapah, after the fridge gets to temp it should be lower than 38 and the freezer should be in the minus 10 degree area. I have a Norcold and had problems with my thermocouple. I replaced it and the temps are back to normal. Wait until tomorrow to check temp and leave the door closed as long as possible... Dave

The RV frigs don't have as much cooling power as ones for the house. I expect in the morning it will be where you want it. So, keep that in mind when you use it. Don't fill it with warm stuff. Limit the amount of warm stuff you put into it at once.
A cold 12 pack of beer cold will stay cold and a warm one will take a while to cool down.

I just got back from a 3 week Mexico beach trip and I took the advice of someone on this great forum and installed a wireless thermometer in my frigde. I am always worried that the temp feels warm. I purchased one of the units that gives the most recent 24 hour high and low temps and let it do it's thing. Sure stoppped the dreaded open and closing to check the temps. Must be an OCD thing. With the weather station sitting on the counter it reassured me the temps were good. Now if I could only find a wireless light detector to tell me if the light is off when I shut the door. .
Paid less than $25 for the weather station.
