New Roofing Material?

Did I dream this or did I really read it? I THINK I very recently read that on the Montanas the roofing material had just been changed from EDPM to some other material. I did a search and found nothing about it and I also asked my dealer this morning with no result.

BTW while at the dealer this morning we purchased a 2018 3791RD. Will be picking it up next Tuesday 10/31.

Congratulations on the new camper.

I have not heard or read about anything, but Bingo had posted that he was getting his roof fixed with a roll on coating. Could that be what you are thinking of?

As far as I know or have seen they still only come with EDPM roof I have seen on some supper expensive 5er and class A's a fiberglass roof but it's not cheep! don't know the
longevity of fiberglass is because of the flexing wile driving down the road.

Thanks, but no. Was supposed to be from the factory on all Montanas.

Dicor also manufactures TPO roofing material. A way to tell which material is used is to take the inside trim off a vent so you can see the back side of the roofing material. If it is black EPDM was used. If it is white TPO or Brite Tek was used.

They do have a new material, no sure what it is, but it has a texture to it and is not smooth like old style.

Switched from EPDM to TPO in 2016 I believe. if your roof has a texture to it its TPO

I'm jealous. I will be ordering my 3791RD in February since I am in snow country and can't use it until spring. Keystone cuts off model year production in February and by ordering it then you will get a 2019 around April. The dealership tracks the cutoff date so the 2019 order is guaranteed once the change is made.

Our 2018 3790RD has the EPDM roof. It looks like the 3791 has the same floor plan. Does the 3791 have the rear slide-in drawer? We love ours. Ours does have the large RV refrigerator and not the residential.

Yes, it's the same floorpan as yours but with residential reefer and it does have the rear pull-out storage. The build date is 9/26/17 and it has the new wood color inside and the new style entertainment center surround and 48" wide fireplace.

BTW, thanks for info concerning the roof material. I'm not sure when yours was built but supposedly the change was very recent.

While attending the factory tour at the Fall rally. We were shown the new roofing material. The tour leader did not dwell on it so I don't remember what it was but it replaced the edpm.
