New Problem this Morning
Hooked up the trailer for it's first ride behind the new truck. Headed to the dealer for more warrany repairs, and inspections. Before I got more than a mile away from home I noticed through my mirror that the bedroom slide had opened 3-4 inches. Pulled off the side of the road and thought about it for a couple seconds. I was sure it was closed all the way when I left the driveway. Had the remote control with me and ran the slide in from the cab of the truck. About 15 miles later I noticed the slide had come out again. This time while crusing at 60 mph I closed the bedroom slide again with the remote. Another 15 miles and I arrived at the dealer and the slide had opened about an inch. All my slides are hydraulic.
Ponted it out to the local dealer and gave him my extended warranty information and left. They were very busy for a small town RV dealer. I'll call them in a couple days to get an update. I'm sure glad I got the extended warranty.

Good to know you have the extended warranty (service plan), I bought my very first extended service plan from Good Sam based on folks here on the MOC recommendations, just hope we never need it.

We had a "creeping slide" problem and it turned out to be that the rams were leaking fluid past the internal seal. We replaced 2 rams and the problem was resolved. Cost us $1400.00 at CW to repair.
Hope your fix is cheaper!

This Montana is making me wish I had never gotten rid of my 1988 Holliday Rambler TT. That thing was built well and trouble free for close to 4 years that I owned it. She's now in the oil feilds of North Dakota.

I'm sure they will fix your problem and since you got the extended warranty it will only cost you the deductible,,,,...... But WOW I wish I had the remote lol lol I can think of lots of uses for it lol ... like when you got that nut who wants to ride right beside you,,, you could run the slide out and he would move. Or when you come to construction zones that say right lane closed ahead but idiots keep running up the right lane to cut in front of people slowing traffic down you could run the slide out and block them lol lol I'm sure I can think of more uses...lol lol

I can't belive they quit installing the remotes. I love it. Great for hitching/unhitching and seting up. And you've come up with a few uses I'd never thought about...

The remotes are still installed on the Big Sky. When we were deciding on whether to order our unit in the Big Sky package or buy the one we ended up buying off the lot, we were told that the remote was an option we could pay for.

Many folks never used the remote because they were in general not reliable. Ours has never been used.

I agree with Rich. On ours you have to manually select which function you want to do, be it slides in/out, landing gear, rear stabilizers, scare lights or awning, then the remote will work. If you have not used it within a couple of minutes the remote system turns off, and it will not do anything until you go to the control box on the trailer and turn it on again. Woodtic detailed being able to use it from the cab, I assume while going down the road. With ours I would have to stop, get out, go to the control box, select the function, and climb back into the cab to use the remote. What is the point?

Mine has an auto shut-off also but it can be turned on with the remote. Press and release the LCI button then the ON button and the remote is activated. All functions are activated until it times out again, about 10 minutes. Didn't know I could activate the system from the control box. Thanks.

Mine works like Woodtic's. Push 2 buttons in sequence and the remote operates. Sure it will shut down after a couple minutes if not in use, but just push those 2 buttons again and you're back in business. My only issue is while operating the stablilizers, I have to remember to aim the remote at the control box from back there, otherwise I'll lose the signal. That's how mine works anyway. I find it handy to use.

My remote X2 as with sambam. From the back of the rig, I have to aim at the right spot, or it won't keep the stabilizers coming up or down. Otherwise, it is a joy. Also, I was having a problem with it, changed the remote's battery, made a huge difference in its functioning and distance from the rig to operate.

That auto shutoff is a safety feature to prevent inadvertent deployment of slides, stabalizers, landing gear and the kite (otherwise known as the awning). We have the LCI remote which reactivates from the fob. But we also installed Rieco Titan leveling jacks and that remote requires a trip to the control panel. We put the reset inside the little hatch with the hydraulic selectors. There is also a second wired remote for the RT next to the hydraulic pump.

The remote is great. I use it all the time. I have 2012 3750FL with 5 slides. I like the fact that I can be outside watching the slides extend making sure they are clear and not going to hit anything when setting up in tight quarters. Because there is a limit on how many thing it can be programed to operate my remote will operates 3 of the 5 slides, the front landing gear, the rear stabilizers, my scare light and my awning. The 2 front living room slides I have to use the switch inside to operate. I bought my 5th used and I'm glad it had the remote option. I wish it had the 6 point leveling system too but oh well.....
