LP gas leak
Discovered an LP gas leak in my drivers side LP compartment where the nut attaches to the black pipe coming from the passenger side LP tank. Called Keystone and they authorized a repair. Repair guy found that they had used a mecanical pipe threader and threaded the pipe too deeply. That way the nut would bottom out before the threads locked. Since they covered it in pipe dope it took some time for the gas to work it's way out, but once it did you could hear a small hiss and smell gas when you opened the compartment. Had to cut four threads off the black pipe to get everything to seal correctly.

Us too! Probably more than you. We've got a front bedroom so we sleep right over where the leak was. Could have been part of Keystone's first moon launch.

Great.... another poor quality story. You found your problem, but I wonder how many others are gonna have this one? Propane leaks are serious stuff and we should never take this kind of problem so lightly especially from something that should never have happened (how long have trailers been built?)
I hope Keystone is listening (reading). It's one thing to be a good guy (thank you Keystone service rep) and fix something, but PREVENTION from a problem in the first place is a better thing. Consider the time (and money) wasted on a problem that should never have been there. I hope this isn't considered political. I'm trying to think safety.

You have a very good point and I am now putting together a list to discuss with Keystone at the next rally.

I have fixed several gas leaks on mine. All of mine were loose black iron connections.
My wife can smell a leak way before I can and I have learned to listen to her. Well, at least as far as that goes.
Safety first!
