Thanks, AZcamping fool.
We will park our Monte in Williams next, and drive around sight seeing.

I do not know how the other makes of hitches work, but I have a 16k Husky like Ozz, only a non slider. It does not have the locking jaws I read so much about, it has a sliding bar that slides in behind the pin when hitching. It slides with much power, enough so that the installer warned me that if I wanted to keep all my fingers, I would not put them in the way of the bar. Anyway, when trying to unhitch, my king pin will absolutely not come free if there is any pressure at all on the locking bar, because I cannot move the bar with the handle. The only way I can release the locking bar is to apply enough back pressure to the front of the pin (by putting the truck in "R") so that the pin is not touching the bar. By doing this, and once the pressure is off the bar, it slides back easily. I would guess pin (and rig) could possibly drift forward as I slowly pull out from under the pin but I don't see how the pin (and rig) could come loose to the rear.

Right, Rich.
It slid out so easy, an 8 year old could have pulled it out.
(Cat320, it could have been a neutral pressure, when I pulled the lever, it just moved back easily, like in a dream.)

Ozz, besides the train, there are some interesting little spots in and around Williams. Kiabab Lake is a nice little trout fishing lake where you can have a nice picnic. Take Exit 165 off Interstate 40. Turn north onto State Rt. 64 like you are heading for the Grand Canyon and go 0.8 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.9 miles to the campground and lake. The Bill Williams ski area is also an interesting place along with Dogtown and Cataract lakes. Here is a link to the general area: http://www.2az.us/hike-bill-will.html You should have great weather this time of year, plus all the leaves should be changing for some good photo ops.

Jim and Sue,
We spent a month this summer in Flagstaff and Williams. I envy you. Check out some of the sites besides the Grand Canyon (we ended up doing that also even though we have been there many times). There are several National Monuments that are really good. We also went to the Meteor Crater and was very impressed with the displays in the Museum. Sunrise (I think that is the name of it) Crater is also great. There are also several great places to eat in Williams. A Steak House and an Italian Restaurant as well as a great 50's hamburger/shake place.
Happy trails.............................

Cat 320, I have the same thing with my reese 16K, when I get ready to unhitch I block the wheels and back up slightly this takes the pressure off.

Great, Rich.
I think we will be staying at Oasis, Sue will be calling today to get reservations.
We didn't think we would need any, but couldn't get a spot in Sedona, so maybe we better plan ahead for hot spots like that and Vegas.
We would love to meet you two, I haven't been to Vegas since the MGM Grand burned. I hear it's really changed.
I'll call you when we get there. We won't be leaving Williams for another Three days, then travel around 250-300 miles a day, so we may miss you, unless your convention is a long one.

Ozz, I am glad that no damage was done to you or your unit. I guess you forgot the story I told you about my unit rolling off the blocks and was lucky because the rail on the pull rite hitch caught it. Therefore the first thing I do when I stop is put on those roto-chocks and the last thing I do when leaving is to remove them. Hope you and Sue continue to have a great time.

We have a 20K hidden hitch. Blue Ox does not make a bed saver for it. They have it for 18K but not for 20K. Does anybody know of another company that would make one for our model?

Bob, I think a good welder could whip up one for you. It just bolts on my hitch with 4 bolts, you might talk with a welder and fabricator about it.
Google Bed Saver, and print out pictures.
Good luck.

We did manage to meet up with OZZ and Sue in Vegas. Took a look at his bedsaver and it can not get any higher with the hitch he has. We had a nice bkfst at the Stardust and made a depost at the Riveria Casino. Ozz has a air horn on his Tv that I have just got to get. We had a great time..it is really nice to meet with our MOC family.
