New 2012 GMC 3500HD.

We pick up our new truck tomorrow, the 25th. It's loaded with a lot of bells and whistles and dual rear wheels. Going to put some miles on it before we travel next month, Grand Canyon, Nevada, Idaho, Yellowstone and where ever we end up!

You're gonna love it Steve. So many changes and additional features on the new ones. You may even have to read the manual!!!

I really don't see much difference in the big three, they all are great trucks. That's what made the search difficult, but we've been quite happy with one brand so we stayed with it.

I have a 2 monh old 2500HD duramax. It is great so far (2100 miles). My previous TV was a 2004 2500HD. This one has 800 lb higher weight rating (but the truck weighs 400 more, so really only 400 more capacity). Anyway, I towed from Mesa, AZ up to Payson with warm temps outside - 84 degrees. It only down shifted one gear and maintained around 50 mph (without pushing it) the whole trip. Previous 2500 would be down into 3rd and high engine rpms. Also, this one rides much smoother and quieter.

Hopefully it holds together. :-) I only bought a chevy because that is the only one that fits in my garage!!! Ford is 9 inches longer.
