Questions I forgot to Ask

1. What does STB mean on the remote selector control panel?
2. There is a little white plastic basket shaped cover on the wall to the right hand side of the closet. It looks like a remote thermostat tube inside of it but ????.

Without looking at mine, I think it is the rear stabilizer switch.
You are correct about the thing in the closet being a thermostat, but I am not sure why either.
Enjoy the new Montana when you get it.

You probably have the 2nd A/C and I believe the plastic "thingy" by the closet is the sensor for that zone (zone 1?)

Ah stabilizer. That makes sense. I don't have the second AC but the furnace control shows a zone setting although it stayed on zone 1.

I have a 3400RL with the second AC but my thermostat stays on zone 1 also. Should it be able to be switched to zone 2?

I'm not certain, but I think the zone 2 option only applies if you have the ducted A/C in the bedroom, prewired from the factory. Ours is setup that way and the thermostat can be switched between zones with full control in both (temp and fan speed).

No such thing as "Zone 2" in our 3400's. These Duo-Therm thermostats are the same as the Duo-Therm ones used in the more expensive 5th wheels (150k-250K units). Montana uses the same ones, and that zone two is not ever used.

Now, that was as of about a year ago. Maybe things have changed... if you have a second ducted AC and the possible zone sensor that MikeM mentioned.

OK, here is some info on that plastic thing...I have a new 10th Anniversary 3605 and I am pre-wired for second AC..Anyhow, I just took out the 14x14 ceiling vent in the bedroom and replaced it with a Fantastic Fan and after I took out the vent I found the other end of the wire (that goes to the plastic thing)in the ceiling right next to the vent AND the A/C box in the ceiling. That leads me to believe it IS in fact for the second AC unit if/when installed. Strang thin is, I also found what appears to be a telephone cable with an RJ11 end on it up there as well???? No idea????

Yes I did the wire track back also and found the other end. It appears to be the prewire for the second A/C. I didn't take this option but it is nice to have the prewire if global warming ever reaches way up here.

We have the 2nd A/C which was part of the build order on 300Rl 2008.
The Duo-Therm has Zone 1 to control the front A/C unit and Zone 2 for the rear A/C unit. Both can be set independant of each other. The little plastic basket shaped thing you speak of Roger is the remote tempature sensor for the Duo-Them Thermostate.
Hopes this helps
