Awning

It's time to replace our worn out awning fabric. Does anyone know where you can get a high quality replacement?

Also, is this a do it yourself job or best hired out?

Because it can be dangerous I'd hire it done, but that's just me. If I was going to do it, I'd for sure have help.

Have helped replace several times. Not hard with a couple of buddies. Setting tension is where you have to be careful, but usually a minor adjustment if you lock the existing tension in place at the start.

High quality can mean many things. If you want to stay with vinyl, there are higher quality vinyl replacements...but you may not be able to get the same color and design. Higher quality in awning usually means leaving that vinyl world behind and replacing it with acrylic fabric which is cooler and doesn't rain underneath like vinyl will in parts of the country...like florida. Cost will be higher...but so would heavier vinyl. John

Send a message via MSN to jsmitfl
toughtopawnings.com have a awning replacement that you can do yourself. The post instructions also. BUT I think their colors are white, white, and white. Not sure.

Having "helped" a tech replace(warranty) our awning on a rig a few years ago I have a little more knowledge if I were to tackle replacement today.

If I had no knowledge of what is involved I would be very hesitant to do it on my own the first time.

If you are close to Donna, TX check out the DonWes Flea Mkt. There is an awning business there
that is open every day. They replaced ours a few years ago and did a good job and as I recall
was reasonable even though ours was covered mostly by insurance. One guy did the job himself.
