If he has 3042 lb rated wheels, that means he has 6,000 lb axles, so he could use LT truck tires instead of ST trailer tires, and he would have a wide selection of tires with those specs.

Yes, 80# rims, get new rims and the G614 tires, that will solve your tire issues. Be aware that the G614's wear on the inside and outside of the tread, but stop wearing after the initial rub-off caused by parking lot flexing.

1500 miles, proper pressure and alignment OK equal wear inside tread and outside.

Your 2010 should be Ok as far as the rims go. Good luck, and you have made a good decision.
If you seek any professional experienced tire information, give LonnieB a shout, he manages a tire shop in Clovis New Mexico, (Tire Country / Tire Pros - General Manager) he is a valued member and friend of the MOC.

If you have 80lb rims a good trire is the Bridgestone Derivat. I put them on my 3582RL and love them. Also I got $75.00 credit for my Trailkings at Discount Tires. Just saying.

I have a 362 Mountaineer. I weighed axles separately and the front was 5500 and rear 5700 or so (My trailer rides high in front.). So my tires (3402 load) are good, but may be pushing the limit on the back, as one side may be heavier than the other.

We have a 2014 3155RL, (and love it!).....I am wanting (needing) to upgrade the tires. We only have about 1500 miles on our new unit, but I am worried about the factory tires (Marathon's). We are not full timers, but we make one trip a year that is about 2000 miles round trip, everything else is under 400 mile round trip. I know the G614's are probably the best thing to get, but I was wondering about other tire options that would be a good reliable alternative. All help is appreciated ....thanks....

See my reply in the other post you made. Making the same post in more than one place on the forum is frowned upon, as it spreads answers and discussion all over the place.

Here is LonnieB's tire recommendations:
Lonnie:
These are my suggestions for LT235/85R16 load range E in order of preference.
1. Michelin XPS RIB
2. BRIDGESTONE DURAVIS R500 COMMERCIAL LT
3. BF GOODRICH COMMERCIAL TA
4. BRIDGESTONE DURAVIS R250 COMMERCIAL LT
5. FIRESTONE TRANSFORCE H/T
Lonnie is the General Manager at a tire shop in Clovis New Mexico. I couldn't think more of any person, Lonnie is the real deal.
