Duck Tape Removal

Before winter we closed in the bottom of the Montana with sheets of insulation board. Attached it to the bottom with Duck Tape. Well the problem now is trying to get the sticky stuff off that the tape left when I removed it. I have tried WD-40 and every other thing that I can think of and that stuff will not budge. I even tried heating it and that don't work either. Does anyone know of anything that will remove it???
I will tell you this is one mistake that I will not make again.

Try Skin So Soft or Goo Be Gone. Both have worked well for me.

When putting down floor tile & we would get the glue on the tile we would get plain lard & it would take it off.

I believe big time in Goo Gone. That stuff is amazing. It's available at Walmart and, I think, most supermarkets. There's probably other good products, too, but this is the one we're familiar with.

Somewhere on a thread of this board I read that WD-40 would take it off.

A real sticky mess no doubt. The lard suggestion as well as the Skin So Soft and Goo Gone all probably will help--reason being I think that they have a lot of oil in them but it will not run off. Just sits on the problem area, disolving the glop and works on it til you decide it's finished. Along the same lines, we have found that peanut butter (not chunky style!) works for the same reason. Lard is much cheaper but you can always make a sandwich out of whatever peanut butter you don't use.

"Goo Gone" (don't leave home without it!) has always worked well for us in removing sticky stuff. Another thing to try that has worked fairly well is pressing new duct tape over the leftover residue and then pulling off the newer tape fast. It removes most or all the residue.

i have used mayonaise to remove bumper stickers & it works well. It might work on duct tape.
