My apology Randy. I re-read and I am at least one of the hijackers!

No problem Dennis. I was in need of info since these TR 6 rims are a little different rims due to the recess area where the valve stem mounts. I intend to use the "lollipops" so I can check air pressure w/o removing sensors. Personally the rubber/brass stems I do not trust.

The G6-14 rims have steel stems. That is the part you can see. Look closely at where they go into the rim and you will note that there is a rubber seal on both sides of the hole that goes into the rim. Those seals were cracked and dry rotted. We have them display at the Fall rally.

Was the dry rot on the rubber seal that is between the nut and the inside of the wheel? that could dry rot.

I could not see rubber on our valve stems which must be below the rim line. Bingo has helped and my misunderstanding now understands!!

Does that mean that the new top-of-the-line Montana equipped with the state-of-the-art Level Up system won' raise the wheels up to eye level to assist "guys (y)our age"???

That Bingo would be a good thing . Will have to mention that to Lippert at the rally. The level up does lift the unit far enough off the ground to change a tire makes it a lot easier for Helen.

UPDATE:

Installed these new metal valve stems on my TR-6 Rims. Stems fit tight and firm. I was concerned because of the recess area where the stems go but the stems have good clearance. With FREE shipping and a great price these stems are a good buy. The big difference with these stems are the nuts fasten on the inside of the stem. I am very pleased and happy that Ed D put me on these. Thanks Ed.

Now I am ready for the TST system. So glad to be rid of Mara Bombs and riding on Michelins.
