Belle Isle State Park, VA

Spent July 1-7, 2010 in the campground. Very nice park (712 acres) with water access, boat rental and fishing piers. It was full for the 4th weekend (campers & tents 31 sites) but other then that maybe six or so campers. Sites are level with 6-7 pull thru’s and the rest, 20+ are back-in. Some have trees blocking view of other sites so are very private. Full bath facility with washers/dryers, 50amp and water with two dump stations. Other then fishing and hiking not much for kids to do.

If you like water views, beautiful sunrise and sunsets over the water, quiet, boating, fishing it's a good place to go.

We are at Belle Isle right now. It's our second time here. Quiet during the week, but the weekend has filled up.

That was the first time we had camped there. I am originally from the area and have been to events there on the weekends but never saw more then 4 or 5 campers until we stayed over the 4th and it was full. Maybe it is gaining in use, hope so. Nice boat ramp but only saw 4 or 5 boaters using it.
