Carol, another thing to be thinking about is the loss of space where the w/d will be installed. Our Montana came with two wire shelves in the lower part of the closet. I purchased two larger shelves and installed them above the w/d to compensate for not having the smaller ones.
We have also run our w/d quite often on 30amp service if it is a good circuit. You'll get used to not running the micro at the same time then.
I did help a friend of mine do the install, never again, the unit is too heavy for us seniors!

We are on 30 amp service for the winter in FL. We use our w/d every day and just don't get crazy running other big load items. We have run ac and w/d at same time, but would not add micro to that.

Steve,

Our W/D closet has already had shelf modifications done to it. I will lose one shelf, but the others will be fine. We have discussed the loss of storage a number of times, and agree that we can take less clothes and rethink a lot of stuff we tote along and adjust that way. It will be a challenge, but, I think doable. We might even come up with an alternative plan for the dirty clothes, right now we use the door/hole in the basement, which I love, but, I might not need that. I have all summer to work out a plan!

Thanks for pointing that out tho, a good thing to contemplate before you spend $$ and end up going, NOW WHERE DO I PUT THIS???

Next year, if we make the Valley, I will not be teaching, I will leave a bunch of books at home, making a nice little hole. Also, when we lost Abby, we re-thought what dog gear we take and made a lot of changes, aka, saved a bunch of room in the truck and in Tana.

Life and what you need morfs, year by year, eh??

That is the very unit that I bought yesterday when I was telling about what a day I had.
I do have a question now; our bath room is all open meaning no partitions at all other than to make it separate from the living area. Will the W/D need to be mounted with bolts or anything?

Will it travel across the floor or anything like that when traveling?

I have noticed that most everything we place in the camper is still in the same place when we get there. This tells me that the ride must be pretty good back there.

The w/d combo does not move. We have traveled many miles over very rough roads and it hasn't moved an inch. I think it is too heavy to move. Enjoy, you will love it.
Happy trails.......................

Bill and Donna, I was looking at the brochure for the 3295 and it looked like there is a ward./opt w/d. Isn't that where the w/d would be installed? This was a 2004 brochure and you may not have that closet.

Someone possibly a PO opened up the area. We can see where the toilet area had a partition at one time. There is however a hook up for the W/D.

Mrs.countryGuy,

If you haven't got your new one yet I think that model is on sale at CW if you still want to get one.

Carol, I just saw your comments about a washer dryer on 5/22. that you wrote on 3/13. You should have come down 5 rigs on the 500 circle at BPV 2 days before and checked our new one out before we left for San Antonio. Pam loved her old one and thinks her new one is even much better. Max

Carol, I later read your comment about if you should bolt it to the floor. You know about our wreck last winter in our '06. The washer did not move .

Bill

Thanks for the heads up on the sale price, but, we are still recovering from the fuel costs on the way home from the Valley (took a 900 mile detour) and some other financial set backs. I hope to have the washer/dryer by this fall??

Thanks Ma & Pa, yes, I do remember the photos of your wreck.

Bill, bout your bath??? In our unit, a 3295 a early 2004 model, the bath/toilet room is quite small, and the washer dryer hookup is in a room of its own. TWO doors, one for each little room. I think it is a 30 inch door. it should show on this floor plan:

http://keystone-montana.com/index.ht...95RK&year=2004

(could a moderator please fix this long URL for me, I am having computer trouble and am about to lose my connection. The internet demons are mad at me. SIGHH, THANKS)

Anyway, Bill, I think from what I am reading someone did take the wall out. We knew someone that did that, they were fulltimers. Interesting, never heard of anyone else doing that.
