Dry camping along I90 and I94?

Mid week next week we are headed to northern Minn. from Olympia and then on to the fall rally. Since we have never had the trailer past the Id./Mt state line do you know of any spots to check out on our way. I am going to use Allstays along the way but am look for a little personal input from MOC friends.
After the rally we will be headed down Route 66 to Kingman AZ. So any spots along that route would be great also.

There is a campground just past (East side) the Custer Battlefield. Probably been 8-9 years since we stayed there but it was ok back then. Nothing special but it was just a place to stay that was off the road. Real reason we stayed there was to visit the memorial there. It is really neat in late afternoon early evening. Even if you don't want to camp there you should check out the battlefield.

Oh yeah you will find out that I 90 through Montanna is a real long drive.

There is a place in Wy that I love to camp at. 440,000 acres but it is several miles south of I 90. It's BLM land so you can use it. It's Shirley Basin. I think it's worth seeing. Do a Google search and find it with your GPS. Where the GPS will take you will be the abandon trailer park. It's about a mile off the main road. Nobody will bother you. In fact you will see nobody. If you won't to get away this is the place.
