What the heck.

We went to a dealer and was told the 2980RL was a discontinued model and was replaced by a model 30 something, did anybody hear that this was true? other than the 2855rl being close to our model does Keystone make a plan close to the 2980RL in the 34' 10" long unit.

Yup Don, the 2980 is history. The 3075 is a close replacement and it is 34' 8". Another choice is the 3150 at 34' 5". Here is a link to the Keystone Montana spec sheet. Hover the mouse over the little floor plan icons at the bottom of column and and a larger image of the floor plan will pop up.

Thanks Carl, What a shame, I thought it was such a good floor plan too.

Don,

We love our 2980RL too. As fulltimers, sometimes we think it would be nice to have more room...but, then we realize we have to haul all of that stuff.

We're sorry to hear they have discontinued a great floor plan.

It was my understanding that Montana Division put the 2980 floor plan on hold for a while! I think I read that somewhere on another post or in one of the travel magazines I get. We have the 2980 and really like it! The only problem we have is there is not a lot of extra sleeping room on the unit incase we have guests! We still have the old fold-down couch in our unit and we can only sleep one extra comfortably unless they want to snuggle!

I agree with all of you who have the 2980 RL, or have had one, just enugh cabinets and all seem to be in the right place for the wife, her being so short she just cant reach the high ones with out a ladder. Oh well we'll see if they bring it back on line again. they might even have the Hickory Plan, I sure love the way the did the cabinets inside and out. If I were to order one I would want the cabinet stain to be a little bit lighter, to brighten up the area. RV manufactures love to make them dark for some reason.
ON Edit: This is our thery on trailers, they will intertain alot of people, it will feed 4, it will sleep 2.

I have a unit with a discontinued floor plan, too. I think it went bye-bye because it is not an Open Floor Plan. Our 3500RL has a rear living room separated from the kitchen/dining area with French Doors. But, we like the separate room kind of thing because it enables the living room to be a separate private bedroom for guests and it works for my daughter and her husband and our grandson.

I guess we're planning to keep this for a while so we can't be too concerned about the floor plan going away.

I'm sure the floor plan will cycle around again.

I like that floor plan too Art, I love the being able to seperate the front room from the rest of the RV, I dont know how long those 3400's are but they are longer than mine, plus if I decide to go to another RV Storage lot they charge by the foot here in Los A.

We liked the 2980RL also, but decided on the 3075RL since we frequently have 1 or 2 grandkids with us. With the sofa bed down, we can still easily navigate the 3075 living/kitchen area while they are in bed. Also the more open floor plan seemed more roomy.
