Rolling Aluminum Tonneau Cover Recommendations

We're considering having an aluminum rollback tonneau cover put on our new F350 by a 3rd party once we take delivery in June. Security is the highest priority. We are hopeful of being able to leave stuff in the back while we are making day trips once on the road. Anyone happy, or unhappy, with their rolling aluminum tonneau cover? Any brands or makes that Folks feel comfortable with? Appreciated!!

Cheers,
Robert & Kerri

UpinAK, I have the rool'n lock cover. Really like it and that style is the only alternative with the short bed truck. We love the fact we can tow with it open and as soon as we drop the 5'er we can close it up. Don't like giving up the 10" or so by the cab but the benefits far out weight that disadvantage. Only advice I give is make sure you keep it clean. The material that covers the aluminum slats can get dirty pretty fast. Jim

I have the Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit cover.
Installed it 3 1/2 years ago and very satisfied with it. Nephew and family came over Christmas a couple years ago. Looked out and one of his sons (6 yr old) was on top of it jumping like a trampoline. Fortunately no damage to it. Pretty strong.
I keep various tools and other things in it most all the time, traveling or not. It only leaks a little, and at the rear where it only butts up against the tailgate. But I think newer ones actually have a piece that overlaps the tailgate so leakage should be less.

Ditto on the pace edwards cover. Very pleased with quality. I had one of the panels get a very small chip in the paint finish. I went back to where I purchased it. I would have been satisfied if they replaced the one panel with the chip, Pace edwards replaced the entire rolling cover with a brand new one. Updated with their newest locking and weather seal updates. Thats customer service! 3 year warranty, I think thats pretty good.

we also have a pace-edwards put it on our f250 in 2003 and have not had a day of problems. I just helped a friend put one on his 2010 f250 and it is a high quality unit.

On our TV, when we had her, we used the Rol-n-loc. I really liked it over others that I had seen. It will withstand 300 pounds on top of it. I had the long-bed and it stopped in 4 positions. All the way open, 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 open.

Good luck.

We have had them all but not that one. However In our opinion it is the best choice out there.

Currently have the Pace Edwards cover-- I ended up with the one with the vinyl cover as I got it from Pace (2nds) -- just as good as new as far as I can tell, same warranty. The only advantage I see to Rol-N-Lock (spelling may be wrong) is that the Rol-N-Lock has latches that capture the tailgate and keep / help keep it closed as well. If you don't have a locking tailgate that would definitely be a plus. Other than that I believe they are all the same -- if I had it to over again I would get the all alumimnum one though -- the vinyl is a bear to keep clean (I don't even bother any more!!). By the way, would love to get a new Ford as well!! Great choice.

Rollbak www.rollbaktonneaucover.com
is far superior to Pace Edwards. See comparison chart
on website FAQ.

That is comparing the lower cost vinyl Pace Edwards cover to the all metal Rollbak cover. Pace Edwards Full Metal Jackrabbit is also a full metal roll cover. This is not comparing apples to apples. Use caution when a manufacturer is providing a comparison of his product to some of his competitors to prove his own superiority.
Some of his "NO" statements do not apply to the Full Metal Jackrabbit.
