Air conditioner problem.

Hey everyone!

I have an interesting problem with my A/C unit that various searches on the forum have not been able to help.

If we turn the A/C on AUTO and COOL nothing happens at all.

If I then switch the fan to either LOW MEDIUM or HIGH the fan comes on, but the compressor does not seem to start.

Then, if I set switch back to AUTO the fan runs for a bit and then shuts off.

???

I checked the fuse and the breaker and they both check out okay.

Any ideas?

JennyKraig, after you set the thermostat to Auto/Cool give it 2 to 5 minutes to come on. There is a delay for some reason, I haven't read far enough to find the reason, just far enough to see the delay part. The book say 2 minutes, but sometimes it seems like an eternity. I punch the mode button to get to cool, then the fan button to get to auto. Is this what you are doing?

You are the Man!

Thank you! We simply were not giving it enough time apparently.

Glad it's working! It's getting warm in here!

Thanks again!

I love this web site! All the more reason to have bought a Montana.

This web site was researched heavily by me before we bought and had a lot to do with our decision to buy the Montana.

Glad we went with the Montana!

Thank you so much for the help again!
