Sue, yes, that was Glenn work, he did do good, and he did it as a surprise, just sent it to me! Sweet, eh??
Back on subject, I had one end cap pop off (SO FAR) in 3 years of use. I hot glued it back in! We have no drapes on our windows, just the day night shades, I am sure it is easier to put the shades up and down with no drapes, and I am gonna guess also less likely to pop that end cap off. But, as mentioned before, go slow and easy, two hands, pull the shade out a bit at the bottom, kinda curl it, Vicki R has a good way to explain this, and then up or down.
By the way, you can have a shade tear at the area where the lines go, and never have lost the little end caps, we had one self destruct, and we have no idea why, replaced under warranty.

This topic has been very helpful for me. My first missing end cap diaster in 10 months full timing. Of course it is the dining table shade. I appreciate everyone's advice and sharing.

I used a spot of airplane glue, a single spot on each end cap.
We also removed the two knobs on our 3295RK.
Campbud, I think they're the same shades everyone else uses. I just think the tension needs some fine tuning, like what OntMont did. That and locking down those end caps that tend to fall out and create big problems.

I just pulled down on the string at the bottom about one quarter of an inch and mine loosened up.

CB, you just pulled the string without loosening the bobbin or anything? I'm curious because I might try that myself but wonder if that's what you did. Thanks.

Along with this thread, does anyone remember the thread (& location) on re-stringing these shades? Seems that there were some accompanying pics along with it (my search turned up zilch). The strings have frayed on the rear shade in ours, & now we can't get the 'nite' portion back up...

We went to Lowes and ordered Bali mini-blinds to replace the sunshades. Sunshades are either "on" or "off". Mini-blinds are adjustable. We got the 1/2" slats and, when installed, they look outstanding and MUCH easier to use than those sunshades. We used plastic wall anchors, toggle bolts, nylon toggles, and cabinet screws to install them - depending on what we found around the window. Quite a job, but worth it.

Just a small heads up, some of you may remember that we had one end cap fall off last summer, I had the hot glue gun in my hand, so I tried that. Sorry to report, it did not stay more than 3 months, or until the weather got cold.
So, Al got the super glue out and put it back on that way.
Warning, be sure the blind is not touching your frame of your window when you put that super glue on and while it dries. Could be a problem. I discovered ours blind was stuck JUST a bit to the frame, like the size of a pencil lead, and it did "pop" right off, so I could slide up the blind.

This is how we keep the end caps in place, I put 1/8 aluminum white rivet in it and it works great. If you have to remove the rivet you just drill the head off, and push it out. Not a good pic.
