Front roller shade

Well it seems the front roller shade in the front over the tub wants to go up but does not want to come back down. I hear the motor engaging but not working. Any thoughts. Might need a mobile repair.... thanks

Tony

Might be the switch. Remove it from the wall and see if you can jump across the terminals manually, if so, you can at least roll it back down.

I have to manually spin the shade to bring it down. I hear the motor engaging but nothing happens, when I use the up button I hear the same sound but the motor does actually work, up only. Really confusing.

Sometimes I have to "massage" the button a little side to side as I am trying to go up or down. Not consistent enough to replace switch.

Button

I’ve seen that button in my unit too. Scared to push it. Everything is working correctly now - don’t want to jinx it. I wonder if Irvine door and Shade might have some advice. Have you tried calling or emailing them? They make all the other shades in the unit.

I googled them and found their number I’ll call in the morning. Do you have a picture by any chance on how it’s supposed to look..? When I took the pic that’s how mine looked not sure but I think it broke leaving California in route to Texas. Thank you.

The problem is most likely a reprogramming issue. The little button has to be depressed simultaneously with the wall switch to initiate the reprogramming. It goes on the blink with power surges and minor electrical events of that type. The company rep will give you the sequence if you call them - it is an easy fix - if that is the problem, which is very likely IMO . I have done mine several times.

We had a power surge the last 2 nights our monitor detected something and shut power to the coach. The first time for about 5 seconds and last night I had to go out and reset the camp ground 50amp breaker. Upon start up it allowed power again. Hopefully you’re right I will call in the morning !! Thank you !!

I figure I will put the steps on how to reprogram if anyone happens to experience what I went through.

The button hanging from the powered shade is only there for programming purposes it serves no other purpose.

1. You need to hold the button at the shade and have someone else push the up or down button on the wall at the same time.

2. Hold till you hear a series of beeps, once you hear the beeps you are in programming mode.

3. If the roller is up push the down button, if the roller is down push the up button till you get to the top of bottom of where you want the roller. Let go of the button you will hear beeps again.

4. Do the same thing up or down until it is at the up or down height you want to set it at, let go of the button. More beeps

5. One last time as number 4 and you are done.

***Documented for future use***

Thanks, this is great to know. Early on DW tried to pull it down by hand not knowing it was powered. Since then if you hold it too long it goes down too far and will drop out of the track . I didn't know it was programable and just thought we had to live with it that way. With this info I will reprogram it and things will work right again.
