Fireplace, Pantry, Shelf
We have a 2006 2955 RL; we felt the only thing missing was a "fireplace". We added a fireplace stove under the computer desk. We also removed the large trash can and added 2 sliding shelves, also a sliding shelf above the basket unit. We now have a great pantry. We also added an oak shelf on the side of the cabinets for kleen-x, a hand towel and other misc. - it is great, no clutter on the counter! We were in the Rio Grande Valley for 7 weeks over winter and the fireplace worked great! Silverbird
P.S. This is the first time using photobucket, hopefully I did it correctly!

Very nice, Silverbird. Where did you get the fireplace and what brand and model is it? Also how did you wire it up. You know, just the details please .Looks like something I might want to add to our 2955.
Thanks, Ken

Just like a real wood stove!!! We also added a fireplace.
I also like the shelf by the sink.
Isn't it fun to think of new things to add to the montana?

We also have the same size opening for a fireplace and would like to install one sometime this summer for next winter.
Does anyone remember the parts numbers?...where they purchased the insert?....the cost?...and ease of installation?
Thanks in advance.

For those wondering about our little electric stove.... We have a 2955 RL - we brought home a 24" fireplace insert which would have required modification of the opening (opening too small). We sat the insert on our 3 season porch and turned it on for a few hours - after a number of hours with it running, we discovered the chill was not even off of the room and the unit was too hot to touch. We decided we would not want this installed in our unit for safety reasons. We decided to go with the little electric stove. We bought it at Menards - Countryside Electric Stove - 23" H, 17.5" W and 10" D - 1500 W. We removed the doors from the cupboard, took off the crosspiece on the bottom and sat the stove in. We bolted the rear legs to the floor, drilled a hole through the rear of the shelf above and notched out the slide for the laptop - plugged it into the wall outlet in the computer desk. Our TV, DVD,& Computer plug into a surge protector in the same area. If you notice our TV is silver, we are the ones that zapped all of our electronics when our unit was almost new - now surge protector outside and surge protector inside!! The slide just clears the handle on the little stove. The heat also comes out of the bottom of the unit. People that have seen it, thought it came with the unit!!

Forgot to mention (can't figure out how to edit my post) - the Countryside Electric Stove from Menards cost around $89.95
