Fireplace power switch

Hi, I'm new to Montana and the forum. I recently purchased a 2011 High Country 323rl with fireplace. Recently the power switch on the fireplace quit working. Any one know where I can get a replacement? Thanks

Call Demplex, their number is in the door to the fireplace.

They are very easy to work with.

Has anyone mounted a ON/OFF switch for the fireplace at a more convenient location? Getting down on my hands & knees to turn it ON/OFF is getting old (or is that just me?)

Yep, the remote works great right from my recliner.

It came with a remote?? ... and all these years I thought you had to use the ON/OFF switch!
Another mod to add to my list.

Finally it's been cool enough to use the fireplace in Southern California. That, and an EdenPure heater, keeps the rig nice and warm. But we'll see how things go when the temps drop even lower in winter. We plan to stay in the southern parts of the country but we're expecting colder weather for the winter.

I don't have a remote. My fireplace has a flip down grate at the top of the fireplace where the heated air is blown into the room. Flip it down and the switch is at the far right. So far, no problems turning it off, except to remember to flip it down from the far right of the grate or I'll burn my fingers.

When you contact your fireplace manufacturer, it will probably help to know what model fireplace you have. I don't recall where to find this, but it might be behind the flip down. Your fireplace might be different.

We have used the furnace in three years. Never stayed where we had to worry about the pipes freezing and so we heat with a small electric heater and the fireplace. Makes sense if electric is free and propane costs money.

ok folks I pulled the fireplace out and the only info said it was a 999A-2. It is made in China and not a Demplex. Anyone had any dealings with this and know where i could buy a power Switch. Thanks

Solid logic Dick! We just bought a nice electric heater from Lowes that will supplement our furnace.

These are throw away units, not very expensive to start with. If you can't find a similar switch at a hardware store, your best bet would be replacing it with a new unit. Take measurements of the opening and call Dimplex to see if they have one that fits the hole. Or go online at their site, http://www.dimplex.com/en/fireplaces/fireboxes/products

I would try taking the switch into an electrical supply store and see if they can match it up before thinking about buying a new fireplace.
