Bolts on front jacks

Went to set up tonight and one of the bolts on the crossbar for the front jacks sheared. Of course it was raining cats and dogs but that's another story. I was able to get the trailer off the truck by using a pin off my hitch. Three questions:
1. Are these bolts known to be a problem?
2. Do you replace them with a standard grade bolt or can you use a hardened bolt to eliminate the shearing problem?
3. Does anyone know what size bolt is used? I can't find any pieces from the sheared one. It looks like 1/4 inch.
Thanks for any help.

Get me your mailing address and I will send you a set of shear-bolts for all your slides and landing gear.
No charge.

Landing gear box connecter shear bolts are 1/4x20. Motor side is 1" and slave side is 1 1/2". Use Nylock nuts on both.

You will want to use the right hardness on the bolts. I checked with the supplier of the legs and mechanism and got what they use from the factory. They are cap-head bolts.
