Parts question - tail light socket...

Good day fellow Monty Owners! I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying this fall season.

I was doing some fall maintenance my 3400RL yesterday and discovered that my tail lights and blinkers were acting strangely. I started debugging the problem and found that my left tail light socket has a short. I can squeeze it and bend the wires coming into it making it work temporarily.

Now, where would I found such a part without having to make a drive to an RV Store? Does anyone know if it is an off-the-shelf automobile 3 wire tail light socket?

Here is a photo of part:

Thanks!
Chris

Yup, I was heading over to AutoZone tomorrow. From what I can tell it looks fairly standard.

It is available in the auto parts store I think it is a 1957 plus socket connection.
Good luck and safe travels.

I was ging to replace my tail lights with leds and found these. Before I remove the whole assembly do you know if the bulb comes out of the rubber part or do you have to buy the whole thing somewhere and splice it? I am talking about the stock factory bulb as in the photo.

Yes, the bulb comes out. Mine were in there very tight and I thought I was going to break it but it came out. Push and twist.

Chris, you got lucky by finding the short in the socket! I had problems with ours and while at the Fall Rally two years ago the service techs came by the rigs to see if there was anything wrong with our rigs that they could fix while on the Fair Grounds. I told them I was having problems with my left turn signal and brake light. We went back and pulled the lens off the whole holding base of the left tail light was scorched and the socket itself was burnt. One of the wires shorted out and took the whole socket and holding bracket with it. The socket itself melted out of the holding base and the bulb was laying on the base burning it. We really got lucky an the unit did not go up in flames. The service tech brought out a whole new tail light assembly and replaced it at no charge! Can't beat that type of service!

Just another reason not to miss the fall Rally.

I think John meant an 1157 bulb plus socket, but everyone's right, any auto store will have them.
