Mods on the Road

Do many of you do your mods on the road or at your stick home. I have read that some CG's do not allow working on your rigs. Is this the norm or the exception? I've only seen a few CG's in TL that offer a wood shop.

As a soon to be fulltimer, (20 days to go), How does one go about making these mods??

Any CG's objected to you doing these things??????

C'mon guys, what's the story?????

I have cut wood, sanded it on the tailgate, stained, sawed & drilled metal, no one has stopped me yet, they probably do have rules.......

I try to use common sense. Most of us are alway tinkering around doing little chores. My major mods on the road are just a couple of little chores put together. I don't make a big production out of doing anything...don't spread stuff all around, make lots of noise, and similar things. That's like the 'no washing trailer' rule in most camp grounds. The first thing I do at a new site is clean the bugs off the front of the Montana. I do it very quickly, quietly, then put my hose, bucket, etc away. Never had a problem. If I do, I'll tell them that I'm just cleaning the front of the trailer.

Very similar to Bert for me. We don't have any other place to work on ours but we try to keep it low key.

Many CGs, especially the ones that harbor snow birds, have their own workshops that you can sign up for time on a first come, first serve basis. I believe this is free...
