5th Wheel Hitch
The last 3-4 times my hitch seems to be getting HARDER & HARDER to slide the handel to lock /un-lock the pin ? not binding- nothing changed,
Do these need some type of lube from time to time---I do wash my truck offen ?

Yes they are mental on mental exposed to the elements. I use the white lithium grease on mine. I also lightly coat the pivot points for the hitch.
Good luck and tow safe.

I use a graphite spray that goes on as a liquid, but dries very quickly. You must be extremely carefull where you spray it though, as it's not very pretty on a white truck, and is extremely hard to wash off.

Make sure that you are backed into the hitch so the pin isn't putting pressure on the lock mechanism/jaw. I chock behind coach wheel and back against it. Lock the brake/Park, then lower the gear. Works every time. Like others, I also lightly lube moving parts.

Another thought is to buy a cover for your hitch when you aren't using it. CW sells them for around $25. Works very well and no problem flying off down the road. We leave our hitch in the TV all the time and this protects the hitch.
Happy trails..................
