You'd think there'd be an easier way . .

We're from VA and it's easy to find Federal, State and local parks, forests & CGs - here we are out in AZ and NM. Here there's Fed., State, local PLUS tribal Native American parks. It'd be really great if there was something that would put them all together.

Have never been able to do that without using three or four apps.

Try Allstays.com. You will find any place you can camp or stay over night. All national parks forest land Walmart. State by state town by town you name it it's there.
Lynwood
Walt was you ever at Momaw Lake up in Bath County. Camp no one site 23. The prettiest lake in Va and site 23 is the best site on the lake. Water clean enough to drink, that is what UVA tested it and said.

Haven't gotten to that part of the state for camping yet. Just trying to get some of LOML's bucket list things checked off with this trip. We're starting to plan a northern trip for next summer and may try putting that one into it.

I second the ALLSTAYS app. Ie..the one you pay a one- time fee of $9.95. This one features all of the other .99 ALLSTAYS apps.

You can filter the app to show you all you requested above and.... Rv dealers, shopping stores...groceries,

But once downloaded...please play with the app and find the built-in tabs leading you to reviews, website, maps (directions on how far away you are to the location), direct calling to camp office to make reservations if needed. Also included is a description of number of sites, whether 30 or 50 amps, closing if seasonal, even GPS coordinates.

This app is sooooooo much more than just showing you there is a campground.

OK, so I bought Allstays & tried using it yesterday to find a CG between Four Corners and Albuquerque. Came up with several, so I wrote down the info for one in the town of Kirtland (not the AF base in ABQ). Called them in the morning and they had a spot, but when we got into the town we couldn't find the CG based on Allstays info. There was one, but not at the address given. Found another down the road in Farmington that turned out to be really good, but again, the address info wasn't correct. Guess a lot of them are just approximations.

We use the campgroundreviews.com site. Choose by state and city and if anyone has reviewed any parks in that area it will show up. We almost always find the reviews to be fairly accurate. Dennis

Sorry your first experience was not good. May I please suggest you click on the tab for maps. It "should" tell you how to get directly to the entrance of the campground with turn by turn instructions. Occasionally...and I do mean occasionally...the entrance is a bit further or sometimes a bit sooner than anticipated. (There is a place in the app for corrections to sent to the creator, but just getting used to using the app is more important now).

Back to the description after clicking on the I in circle.... After tapping that letter and the tabs come up, the description will sometimes have directions to use "in place of mapping directions". But, normally the directions are spot on.

Please keep playing with the app. Also remember to "filter" what you wish to have show up on the app. Enjoy.

Did that before we got to the town and it showed somewhere there was no CG - the one that was there without a name sign was about a block away.
