lippert self leveling system yea or no?
I'm thinking of getting the lippert six point self leveling for my 2011 3400. What I would like to know is:
if you have it where did you get it? approximate cost? do you like it? are there any down sides to it? who did the installation? how long did it take?
Thanks for your input.

Had ours installed last year shortly after the Rally. It was done at TrailAir at that time and took a full day to do the retrofit. Lippert has recently added authorized installers, I'll have to see if I still have the e-mail that shows the new locations. Would we do it again, you bet in a heart beat, and if we decide to upgrade to a different rig it will be ordered with the system to save the retrofit. It's not cheap, but what is there days. Don't know exactly with the normal install price is, but the past 2 years there has been a special offered at the Fall Rally.
Found the e-mail:

- Got it from Lippert/Trailair, 1st post Rally promotion special.
- Installed by Trailair in Goshen in about 6 hours.
- Best upgrade I have done. Would not want a unit without this system.
- There is a learning curve with any system. LevelUp is no different. Like many computers, you will occasionally have to do a reset to clear it and start fresh. Not hard, but I have had to do it twice in two years.
- Exponential improvement in ease of set-up and take-down make this a no brainer if you can fund it.

I ordered mine from the factory since it can be a stand alone option and not part of the big sky. It is worth it not to have to place boards on the ground to level side to side and not having to pull the pins on the landing legs and compensating for the uneven terrain. My system has a remote that also controls the front landing legs so I can stand aside the truck and visually tell when trailer is high enough to unhook. Then the system remembers this position for connection. Downside is it will only auto level a trailer that is no more than 5% out of level.

Keith and Brenda,
About what does it cost ordering it from the factory and are you doing the installation yourself? Thanks for any info. Dennis

I ordered a 3750FL in Sept and just took delivery on Tues Dec 27. It was installed when the unit was built and included in the quote from Camping World RV Sales on the complete unit. I really don't know the cost of just this option. Sorry for the confusion.

The Lippert system is excellent. There is also the BigFoot system that only has four-point leveling but is excellent also.

The MSRP on the Level-Up System is $4750 Installed, but was offered to the Rally Attendees for $3600. This is per the Flyer putout by Lippert prior to the Fall Rally. This is the Retrofit price, Hope this helps.

Had ours installed at the Fall Rally by Lipert. Rally special cost was $3600. Took them about 7 hours. It is NOT a do it yourself project.
Love it!

We have a 2011 Big Sky and it came as part of the package. That was one of the reasons that we traded in our 2005. (I wanted the 4 door refrigerator) It has made a world of difference in setting up.
After unhooking, Jim just pushes the button and the magic happens. Has made his life so much easier, definitely well worth it. I think you will enjoy it.

If we get a new one it will have the system.Don't thing the frame on this 06 3400 is sturdy enough for the system.

Well it looks like we will wait until we go to the rally this fall and get the system then. Really looking forward to the rally and being able to tour the factory.
The other upgrade I am looking at is disc brakes.

When we order a new trailer, we will get the Level Up. We had it installed on our 2009 Big Sky and love it!
Here in south Florida, it does rain a bit; with the Level Up, when the ground gets soft and we dip forward a bit, all I have to do is bump it up a little and we are level again.
Since ours is a retrofit, we retained our rear stab jacks which we use when setting up for more than a few weeks. With 8 jacks, we don't have much movement.

We have the BigFoot system installed by Bigfoot. We love it for the ease of use and reduction in stress between my wife and I. I would do it again if we ever buy another trailer. Our Monty is a 2006 3400RL

The retail price from factory is $3588 on our order sheet, so figure you can get it for about $2400 to $2500 at the time you order.

I find it interesting at the Hershey Show in Sept almost no units with the Level-Up System (other than a couple Montanas) at the Tampa Show in Jan just about every 5th Wheel there had the Level-Up System. Quite a change in just a few months.

I'm in the Phoenix area and see La Mesa RV listed as an authorized installer.I called and talked to the sevice dept. and the guy did not know what I was talking about,so I explained it to him and the only info he could give me was that on motorhomes when the install hydrolic jacks it runs around $2000 for but for 6 it would probably be around $2500 just for the install. $3600 from the rally sounds pretty good.Have an appointment for May when we get home to have it installed at the factory.Made the app. last year at the rally in order to get last years price. If you're in that area or at this years rally, sounds like is the place to have it done.
