Tire pressure monitors

Help, I am convinced after reading on this site, Tire Pressure Monitors are a good investment. Which one? Do I need one that the sensors screw onto the valve stems or have internal rim mount sensors? Some of the ones I have read about say, may not work with rubber valve stems, suggest changing out to metal valve stems, If that is the case, why not go ahead with internal rim mounted sensors? Looks like this may be expensive and we want to get it right the first time. Please advise.
Thanks
