RGV questions
Looking at going to the RGV near or around Mission, Tx. Have heard that the drinking water is not good. Can anyone comment on that.
Also heard windy and dusty.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Don

We are on our way to the RGV. I have seen gusty weather but not too bad in my research but nothing on bad water. I guess we will know in 8 weeks

We spend six months here in the Valley. Water is okay, it has some minerals and iron. Wind does blow quite a bit. Dust will depend on location

We're here now for two weeks. The water is fine in the campground. We had wind for two days but the weather is fine. Americana RV Park is a very nice place to spend time.

We have never even noticed the water in the RGV. It just seems normal. Our favorite place to stay is "Bentsen Palm Village RV Park." There is another park with a very similar name "Bentsen Grove RV Park". It is an older park and a good place to stay, but not to be compared with Bentsen Palm Village RV Park.

Have camped in RGV a number of time now. Both in McAllen and at Falcon State park. No issue with water

We have spent 3-4 months a year for 5 years at Riverbend RV Park in Brownsville. Water fine. Has its own golf course. One of the best in the area.
Enjoy!

We are in our 4th full season (6 months) at Mission West campground and six years before that of short stays. We have never had an issue with the water. As far as the wind, yes every once in a while it will blow 20 mph, but most if the time it is fine. From Someone who has lived in the Western States such as Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas and Wyoming, the wind down here is nothing in comparison.

We stay at Tropic Winds RV park by Harlingen TX in the RGV. Water is fine. Yes it is windy at times. We stay there 3 months in winter. It is a beautiful park- lots to do. Free cable and internet with rent if you stay over 1 month. First timer discount as well. Only 45 minutes from gulf.

I hate to disagree with my fellow RV owners, but water really isn’t very good in the valley.
Although it tastes ok it really isn’t. That’s why there are water stations everywhere to supply RO water. There is a cyst in the water here that requires more than the standard blue filter to remove it. Most folks and pets aren’t affected by it, but if you or your pet are affected you will soon be seeing a doctor/veterinarian. I run three jumbo filters and a water softener here as my wife is one that is affected by the water.
Safer just to purchase your drinking water.

Depends on were you are from and what you are used to. Our S &B is in Ohio and we draw our water out of the great Lakes. We have a water filter system we purchased at the fall rally years ago and use it if the water taste bad to us no matter were we are. It taste bad here in Florida and it taste bad in the RGV. Water filter and all is well.
