I always thought the cows faced into the wind. If I were a cow I certainly would so as not to smell the southern end of a cow. Also, another way for cows to determine the weather is this: If a cow is wet its raining

Somehow I missed your post. I am amazed at the time you had to take out of your busy life to mark all that you marked. I must say, you marked your spot!!! I'll be you were up North somewhere where the cows are not as smart as the Southern Bovine.

You know how it is when you work for a government agency, there is always too much work to do in the time you have, but there is always time to do the unimportant. These were New Mexico cows, independent thinkers who are not bound by normal constraints.

I wonder what the Bull would think of this conversation??...and I would also wonder if... the actual direction the cows face is more related to where the Bull is coming from at that particular time.. I also wonder if the cow is more inclined to be looking for the Bull if she wants to know which direction the horn(s)is facing so she can graze or sleep??......sounds like bull to me!
