Soldier Pass

This summer's adventure is taking us from Yellowstone to Salt Lake City and across Solider Pass (US 6) to Green River, WY so we can spend a couple of days at Arches National Park. My question is -- should I take my 34-foot Montana over the pass, or head down the interstate to connect with I-70 to Green River? I'm driving a Dodge 3/4-ton diesel, so I should have enough power.

Think you mean Soldier Summit. Nice drive. The railroad goes over it, so it can't be too bad.

We have been over Soldier Summit (pass) many times with the rig. Like murf states it is a nice drive. The pull is not all that tough. It used to be considered a dangerous hwy. We have not noticed any dangerous drivers all the times we traveled that way to and from SLC.
In the winter there could be icy conditions.

I have driven that many times. It is not a bad drive at all. But I also enjoyed the ride from Phoenix to Payson.
