download audio books from library

Did you know if you have a library card you can download audio books free? Really works great. Some can be put on CD's, so you could listen in the car if you want. I like to listen to them on my iPodtouch. You just need a library card and then you can download from anywhere.

That's good to hear, do the downloads have to come from a library or just where might I look?

Charlie, if you have a library and are in that library's area, go in and they will set you up with a pin number and give you the directions on how to download. If you are away from your library and have a card, you can most likely contact them via the Internet. Or, you might go into a local library and they will explain and help you. You need iTunes installed as it is the vehicle that the libraries use. You will need to download and install from the library Overdrive Console. Overdrive Console uses iTunes. Then you just go on the library's site, choose the book you want and check it out. It is downloaded to your computer into Overdrive Console. Open Overdrive Console and transfer it to your player (in my case an iPodtouch) or, if permitted, burn to CD's. I hope you were able to follow that.

Forgot to mention we are about a 1,000 miles from our library and download books. All you need is the Internet and a library card and pin number. It is all free! I just finished downloading John Grisham's "The Appeal."
