"I-Go" Products

Back in Feb 2003 DW and I were sitting in the Charlotte Airport waiting to board our flight to DC and onward to South America. We had a couple of hours to kill so I thought I would get caught up on some work and pulled out the ole laptop and fired it up. The battery was lifeless and the ac cord was no where to be found. This was really an Ah Shucks situation. I headed up to the concession area, found a computer shop, and bought an "I Go" kit that I could use anywhere (wall circuits world wide, aboard airplanes, and with car cigar lighter outlets). We now keep this kit in Monty.

Last week Doris told me she couldn't find the charging unit for her cell phone and asked me to go buy a replacement. First stop was Wally World where they didn't have anything that would fit her phone. Next stop was Radio Shack. The sales clerk took her phone walked over to a rack and pulled two items from it; 1) a power cord and 2) a tip that fits onto the end of the power cord and into the charging port of the phone. Cost was $29 for both. I noticed it was an "I-Go" product and asked if the tip would fit any "I-Go" charging cord. I was told Yes. The $29 dollar cost dropped to $9.00 for the tip. I ended up spending another $9.00 for a tip for my phone and $19.00 for auto charging cord, one that I can keep in the car/truck.

The advantage of this system is when you upgrade phones, you need only spend 9 bucks for the tip that corresponds with the new phone.
